Abstract

In Hollywood, love movies tend to work with narrative the way it is analyzed by structuralism and by the theory of classic cinema. Not only the story but the narrative form follow this pattern. Eternal sunshine of the Spotless Mind deconstructs the love movie narrative in a modern way. At the same time, its narrative works with romantic love in a traditional view, although ambiguous, when dealing with categories such as memory and lovers’ destiny.
