Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationships between memory, narrative and aesthetics film by Jonas Mekas, especially in Walden: diaries, notes and sketches (1969). The uniqueness of the Mekas daily movies, moves away from the staged model of classical narrative, investing in an organic relationship between the act of living and filming as an unfinished process typically reveals his “erasures,” as ambiguous songs of celebration to the act to live.
