Abstract

The present article brings an analysis of the fictional nexus in the photographic work of Jeff Wall. We understand that even if the artist’s work is most of the time based on images that are constructed and controlled to the extreme – from its composition to the final presentation mode -, they can be deconstructed. This way we can ponder about the photographic image itself as a way of building different realities and fiction through the work of an artist. Refusing the debate on photography as Art, we search for the context of Wall’s photographic practice so that we can study the fictional realities that are hidden in his photographs.
