Abstract

The articles that follow are theoretically rich and diverse, which is desireable in any field of study. They aim at displacing the debate from technical and professional matters related to the journalism practice, as much as an obsessive technicist concern, priviledging, in many ways, the cultural aspects of such practice. The texts originally belonged to a joint communication taking place at the 10th Meeting of the Brazilian Association of Journalism Researchers (SBPJor), in 2002, entitled Theoretical and methodological challenges for the study of journalism: articulating culture, power and society.
