Abstract

In this article the aim of the writer is to analyze the main characteristics detected in opening and closing procedures present in Brazilian fiction series, recognized as a highly valued form of contemporary art in our culture. A better understanding of both their structure and function in fictional discourse, frequent in Brazilian television, including in prime time, is to be achieved through the instruments offered both by semiotic theory, mostly French and Russian, as well as poetics of the visual images.
