Abstract

This article aims to shed light on the first film from the American director Terrence Malick, Badlands (1973). The study of this film is guided by denudation of its filmic structure, the search for understanding of narrative tricks and gimmicks aesthetic which mark the debut of Malick, in order to examine not only the work but understand it within a complex political context, social and cultural, accustomed to the 1970s. The article also extends itself on certain malickian narratives inheritances, his dialogue with the American film of its time and its aesthetic uniqueness.
