Abstract

This text discusses the role of schools in shaping of readers and what it should do with the texts of wide circulation. Argues that reading is a cultural experience based on the relationship between
this activity and reader’s everyday culture, stressing that schools should be able to offer a competence in reading, for rooting
this practice.
