This paper debates the theoretical-methodological contributions of intersectionality to media consumption and reception studies. It discusses the appropriation of theories, concepts and categories. It presents the main discussions regarding intersectionality, highlighting conceptual and methodical approaches. The constructionist paradigm and the sociocultural approach are adopted to argue that an intersectional interpretation is necessary to answer the demands tensioning the audience studies, introducing a complex perspective on the production of meanings and the building of identities.
