Abstract

This article gives a general view of the reception of Edgar Allan Poe in many countries, as it tries to show the importance of his works for worldwide literature since the first translation of one of his short stories published in Europe. This paper also tries to emphasize the reputation, fame, and popularity of the author who would inspire renowned writers almost everywhere, a fact which comes to justify their interest in translating tales and poems of the master of fantastic literature.
