Do bilíngue ao tradutor, do enunciado à enunciação: notas sobre uma perspectiva enunciativa do tradutor e da tradução

Abstract

This paper begins with the following inquiry: if every bilingual is able to translate from their mother language to a foreign one (and vice-versa), what makes a translator unique and different from an average bilingual speaker? The hypothesis stated in this text is that the referred difference lies on the specialized reading a translator has of the text to be translated. Thus, it is proposed that, considering the theoretical scope of enunciative studies,  translators read the process of meaning construction of the original text (that is, the énonciation), versus reading the product (that is, the énoncés), a natural procedure  for a bilingual. Therefore, this article attempts to contribute for the studies  on translation through the view of an enunciative theory, (re)thinking how Enunciation Language Studies conceive the role of the translator, as well as how the very practice of translation is conceived.
