Abstract

This paper describes the rationale for the design of the CORDIALL corpus, developed at the Núcleo de Estudos da Tradução (NET) at the Faculdade de Letras, Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. It focuses on aspects of the construction and use of CORDIALL as a resource for the study of discourse and cognitive issues in an interdisciplinary approach drawing on insights from corpora studies, translation studies, cognitive studies, discourse analysis, and cultural studies.
